Property social network completes second acquisition off the back of fundraising round

The U.K’s only property social network and leading challenger portal, PropertyHeads, has announced the next step in its rapid growth with the acquisition of one of the country’s largest and longest standing property portals, Mouseprice.

The purchase of the 16 year old portal from Landmark Analytics Limited,  part of Landmark Information Group and Daily Mail and General Trust plc, will provide PropertyHeads with access to an additional 250,000 property listings from almost 4,000 estate agent branches. It will bring them significantly closer to the likes of RightMove, Zoopla and Onthemarket in those terms and, alongside its recent purchase of OurProperty.co.uk, consolidates consumers, agents and property businesses onto a single social platform.

It is PropertyHeads’ second deal in a matter of weeks as its fast-paced growth strategy continues to take shape. The acquisition of the long standing OurProperty.co.uk. added a further 700,000 consumers to the PropertyHeads social platform, whilst the purchase of Mouseprice means the group will now have access to approximately 50% of the UK’s property listings. The company completed a successful fundraising round in early August and it will be making at least two further significant announcements in the coming weeks.

Mouseprice, which was founded in 2004 and is well known for providing consumers with property sold prices, pioneered the automated valuation model (AVM) in the UK and currently serves estate agents with property appraisal reports. Mouseprice and PropertyHeads will share some services but the brand will continue and will benefit from further investment from the PropertyHeads Group, founded in 2018. It will also mean the Group benefits from over 1 million monthly web visitors.

Consumers can enjoy a comprehensive alternative to the traditional portals, with a service including a number of elements that are unique to PropertyHeads. Visitors can now access a huge number of listings across the U.K. but crucially they also have the opportunity to view properties before they come to market by connecting directly with agents. They can connect and collaborate with other PropertyHeads members, share properties with their spouse, builder or flatmate, and compare properties more easily with Property Owner Reviews and PropertyHeads’ unique Property Compare tool.

Ben Davis, CEO of PropertyHeads, comments:

“This announcement is somewhat of a landmark moment for us, in which we have consolidated our various audiences and functions to create an extremely powerful offer. We have pulled together hundreds of thousands of property consumers, 20,000 property businesses, almost 500,000 property listings and sat them alongside one another. The removal of these historic barriers of communication in exchange for seamless property social networking represents a step forward for the U.K’s property industry, in our opinion.

Our social platform is the perfect tool to build and maintain relationships with estate agents, tradespeople and other property businesses, and that’s been sorely missing up until this point. It ensures consumers can make better informed decisions, whether they be moving, home-improving or just looking to save money and means that quality property businesses can grow by word-of-mouth online.

The combination of the three businesses gives us a fantastic base to grow from.”

Gavin Ray, Chief Product Officer , Landmark Information said:

“PropertyHeads is one of the UK’s fastest growing property communities that connects people and property and the Mouseprice service is a natural extension to its existing range of services.  We  look forward to seeing how PropertyHeads will further invest in and evolve the Mouseprice service to support both new and existing customers ”

About PropertyHeads
PropertyHeads is The Property Social Network™. Founded in 2018 by former investment manager, Ben Davis, the company has since registered 20,000 property businesses and holds data on almost 30 million homes across the U.K.

PropertyHeads combines elements for its users that are typically associated with LinkedIn, Facebook and property portals to create an all-encompassing hub of information, content and interaction for all things property, crucially delivered around the specific interests of the user.

In addition to its portal function, the site allows users to create profiles to reflect their interests, preferences and requirements relating to housing. The social networking aspect enables them to make well informed decisions around the home moving process, making home improvements and associated when purchasing property products.

The likes of estate agents, architects, plumbers and any other tradespeople are ranked on how connected they are to the user, giving good businesses a means to grow by word-of-mouth online, and giving consumers increased confidence in the property companies they choose to work with. There are streams of advice and local data on house prices, hyper local planning updates and property news tailored to the users location and preferences. Its estate agent networking function also allows users to be given the heads up on properties before they come to market, whilst vendors can also review their own homes.
