Tunstall Healthcare expands its international footprint and service offering with the acquisition of Secuvita

Tunstall Healthcare (“Tunstall” or “the Company”), the UK-based, leading global provider of software solutions, services and technology for the telecare and telehealth markets, has announced the acquisition of Secuvita B.V. (“Secuvita”), a technology solution provider in the Netherlands. The transaction will support Tunstall’s strategic expansion in digital solutions and services and strengthen its position in the Dutch market.

Tunstall integrates smart technology with high quality monitoring and support services to give individuals increased independence, improved quality of life and wider choice in their care options. Backed by its majority shareholders, who are funds managed by Barings and M&G, Tunstall operates in 22 countries globally and supports more than 5 million end users. This acquisition is the first of several add-ons that Tunstall intends to execute as part of its commitment to its global strategy, and to support its mission of driving health and social care into the digital age.

Secuvita is one of the leading providers of telecare and access control services and technical solutions in the Netherlands, with over 70,000 users. Its portfolio of products and services is highly complementary to Tunstall’s existing offering, meaning both user bases will be able to benefit from additional pioneering healthcare solutions.

In recent years, Tunstall has grown substantially and evolved from an equipment provider to a software solution and technology company that provides telehealth and telecare managed services. In this time, it has almost doubled the number of users managed by its systems, while increasing its geographic footprint across Europe.

Gordon Sutherland, CEO of Tunstall Group, commented:

“I’m delighted to announce the acquisition of Secuvita by Tunstall. Patrick Gaasbeek and the team at Secuvita have built a strong company based on similar values to Tunstall; a strong collaborative approach with customers, high levels of accountability and a drive for continuous innovation and service.

“This approach coupled with the Tunstall Cognitive Care® programme, will offer our customers in the Netherlands an excellent opportunity to explore new ways of delivering enhanced health and social care in a highly efficient manner.

“Tunstall Cognitive Care shifts our business model to providing heightened levels of ‘proactive care’ where data is integrated from multiple sources and analysed through unique algorithms to notify healthcare professionals of any changes in behaviour of the end user.”

Peter Nicklin, Chairman of Tunstall Group, remarked:

“The acquisition of Secuvita is an important milestone in Tunstall’s execution of its strategy, building an integrated health and social care system, which addresses society’s growing and urgent needs caused by changing population health trends.  Tunstall’s continued international expansion, and its extension into new product and service areas, will greatly support its ongoing development as a leading global provider of intelligent health and social care services.”

Patrick Gaasbeek, Director and owner of Secuvita, said:

“We are delighted to be a part of the Tunstall Group which is renowned for its innovation in the sector, and for producing products and solutions of superior quality. Our customers, clients and employees will benefit hugely from the acquisition as we will be able to offer an increased volume of services and specialist solutions to meet health care needs.”
