Auckland, NZ – noissue, the creative packaging platform making custom, sustainable packaging experiences accessible to businesses of all sizes, today announced its acquisition of Tapkit, the all-in-one creative link tool to build microsites and dynamic QR codes. The London-based Tapkit team will be joining noissue’s global Product, Design and Engineering teams with a focus on bringing digital experiences to packaging via dynamic QR technology.

Tapkit was born out of Brent Hoberman’s Founders Factory – one of the UK’s top tech accelerators and venture studios.

Founded in 2017, noissue is a platform built around the pillars of creativity, community and sustainability to account for the packaging needs of businesses, brands and makers of all sizes. Today, noissue has grown into a full service, one-stop-shop for sustainable packaging solutions for businesses of any stage – with a portfolio of stock and customizable products that are all either 100% reusable, recycled, or compostable, allowing brands to reduce their environmental impact through their choice of packaging and better connect with a global community of conscious consumers. With the acquisition, noissue will further its work empowering its 80,000+ network of global customers to easily integrate QR code technology into their custom packaging to help bridge the physical and digital brand experiences.

“For the past five years, we’ve focused on one thing, first and foremost: making it easy for brands and businesses to showcase their values and connect with their customers via creative packaging,” said noissue Cofounder and CEO Josh Bowden. “We’re thrilled to expand our offering to enable brands to seamlessly develop and integrate QR experiences into their packaging and unlock the marketing potential inherent in packaging by using it as a jumpoff point for digital experiences, all within our platform. noissue’s acquisition of Tapkit will help power a suite of marketing touchpoints to make it easy for businesses to build standout, on-brand experiences and better engage with consumers.”

There’s no question that packaging, as a medium, is an integral part of the consumer experience – representing a mega opportunity for brands from a marketing standpoint. Brands are getting more and more creative with how they further engage, interact with and educate consumers at the moment of unboxing, and are quite literally reinventing the ‘back of the cereal box’ experience for a new generation of consumers.

“We’re excited to bring our digital expertise to the noissue team to further enable brands and businesses to create on-brand experiences that they can own via multiple touchpoints using QR technology,” added Tapkit Founder and CEO, Matt Alcock. “From “make-up how-to guides” or “cooking instructional videos” to collecting feedback, enabling quick re-orders and running UGC competitions, the opportunities to create and integrate digital experiences that enhance a consumer’s physical experience with a brand and product are endless, and we’re proud to be merging packaging and technology to power this future.”

Since its inception in 2017, Tapkit has established itself as a partner of choice for brands such as L’Oreal, NYX, Haus, TRIBE, Little Cooks, and more when it comes to building microsites and dynamic QR codes perfect for social, packaging and QR campaigns. Tapkit grew 400% last year alone.

This is the first acquisition for noissue, which recently announced a $10M Series A led by Felix Capital in December of 2021.
